We were proud to offer the following lots for sale on the Piet Du Toit Wildbedryf 2016 Auction. The auction was held on 13 February 2016, at Hoogenbomen Farm to the Northwest of Rustenburg.
The Southern Mountain Reedbuck is smaller than the rest of the reedbuck family and has prominent eyes, a white belly and bushy tail. It survives well in most of the eastern parts of South Africa, in particular in areas where there’s a mix of hills, mountains and rocky terrain. They prefer medium to longer grasses and thrive on sourveld in medium to high rainfall areas (>400mm per year). Common herd sizes are between three and six and they breed with relative ease. Gestation is around 240 days with lambs being born at 13 month intervals.
